The owner or occupant of any lot or land within the Village of Genoa City abutting upon any public street along the line of which a sidewalk is constructed shall clear the sidewalk of snow and ice within 24 hours after the cessation of each snow fall.

A snow removal emergency situation within the Village is defined as a snowfall or blowing snow of such intensity and anticipated duration as to create hazardous driving conditions or congested traffic on the public streets, roads or highways within the Village, required immediate and continuing snow removal operations. After the declaration of a snow emergency, no person shall park any vehicle at any time, night or day, on any public street, road or highway within the Village.

Parking shall be prohibited on Village streets between the hours of 2am and 6am from December 1st and ending on April 1st.

If you have a fire hydrant on or near your property, please take the time to clear snow from around the hydrant to ensure quick access during an emergency.
Snow removal operations may occasionally damage mailboxes. The Village will replace your damaged mailbox with a mailbox approved by the U.S. Postal Service in color black. If unable to replace due to weather conditions, they will put in a temporary mailbox and replace with permanent one in the spring.

Yes. The Village now accepts payments online for water/sewer bills (only). Of course, you may also make payment in person during normal business hours with cash or check. We ask that all check payments be placed in any of the drop-boxes located at the village hall; or by mail.

Trash is picked up every Wednesday with recycling on alternate weeks. Please have containers curbside by 6 am. The trash/recycling schedule and approved recycle material list is available. Service is provided by Johns Disposal.
